AM 2026: Mile High Baptist Association

Video Transcript

Hi, my name is Matt Olson, and I’m the regional director for the Mile High Baptist Association. If people ask me, “What are you most excited about what God is doing in the city of Denver and the entire metro area?” It’s what he is doing in the international churches.

We have about 130 churches total, but over 40% of those churches speak a language other than English.

Hi, my name is Pastor Thongpao Thao. I’m from First Hmong Baptist Church in Broomfield, Colorado. Our church is starting to open the door because with the building that God has given us to be steward of, we see

that a Vietnamese church is meeting at First Hmong Baptist Church, and Redeemer, which is an English church, that is also meeting at the church.

And this is an exciting time to open our doors and make useful of the building that God has stewarded to us.

My name is Lim Lee. I’m a Vietnamese pastor in Vietnamese Central Baptist Church in Edgewater. Through the help of our convention, they encouraged me to reach out to the young generation, especially for the Vietnamese in college. We pray and we ask God to lead us and help us how to reach out to the lost people around.

We work very closely with the association, find a way through community, to food bank, to the hospital. Like God said, the field he already reaped and very few workers, so continue to pray and ask the owner to send more workers. We’d like to invite you to participate with us to reach out to the lost people.

Thao: Your prayers has given us that encouragement and capability of us growing us from a third-world country, coming here not knowing Christ, and we are able to find Christ here and starting to grow our faith here and become disciple ourselves.

And as a pastor myself, I just want to thank you for your prayers, and just continue to share the gospel through all nations. Thank you.

Olson: My prayer is that we’ll see more and more of this take place. A few of these churches have grown and been strengthened and now have buildings and are able to do more in our city than ever before. And I think of all of the great stories we have, the stories that we see with these churches are the greatest.
