Disaster Relief Receives Commendation Award

At a gathering on June 27th Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle recognized and commended the combined efforts of first responders and volunteer organizations for answering the call issued at the Marshall Fire.  Colorado Baptist Disaster Relief Director Dennis Belz and a portion of his team received a citation for their tireless work in helping residents affected by the fire.  Pelle said, “It was remarkable the number of volunteer hours registered by Southern Baptists.  We could not have done it without volunteer partners like this.” Our Colorado Baptist Disaster Relief Team continues to be a powerful witness for Christ in times of tragedies and natural disasters. This team is also poised to assist in the clean up efforts resulting from an arsonist’s attach on the Life Choice Ministry building in Longmont which occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday, June 25th. The fire comes on the heels of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
