I’m Josh Hutchins. I am the director of the Rocky Mountain Campus of Gateway Seminary, right here in Colorado. And before I started this position, I was just one of the pastors of Overland Church, brought here to train people in our local church in Fort Collins.
And we initiated a partnership with Gateway Seminary to bring a teaching site of the Rocky Mountain Campus to Overland Church in Fort Collins, something that we can do throughout the region and throughout the state.
I’m Matthew Williams, pastor at Resonate Church in Fort Collins, Colorado.
My family moved here three years ago to start our church in Fort Collins. We’re part of a church planting network of about 15 churches that started in the Northwest. We’re passionate about raising up leaders internally through a leadership pipeline within our own church and
organization.
We love what seminaries do and we push that, but also we want to train leadership development and practical pastoral skills within our own church. And so getting connected to the Overland Fort Collins teaching site for Gateway Seminary is a huge part of how I plan to raise up next pastors for the churches we want to plant.
Teaching sites are connected to the Rocky Mountain Campus as places where we can offer in-person classes on the field in your churches, so that you can train your own people from your church and your association right where you’re at.
We think the next generation of pastors and leaders and church members and church planters are on our college campuses today.
We also believe that the road to the ends of the earth run through the college campus. One of the reasons we reach college campuses is because people come from all over the world to study at universities in America, and then they go back to their home countries.
Right now, we have two people in our church from Nigeria who have just come to the States for the first time to do their master’s at Colorado State University.
And so we’re reaching college students there during the most unchurched generation we’ve probably ever seen in our lifetime. And we’re reaching them there with the gospel, and we’re getting them connected after they’re saved and they’re being discipled to theological education at the teaching site for Gateway Seminary. Perhaps your future pastor is a student at Gateway Seminary right now, being prepared for ministry.
All of us across the state are coming together to partner together to raise up the next generation of pastors, planters and youth workers, missionaries, all the people that we need in order to fulfill the mission of God in this state and to the ends of the earth.
Over the last year, we’ve had one guy get involved in our church, and the Lord’s clearly put a desire on his heart for pastoring and church planting. And so over the last year, he’s entered a cohort to be a pastoral candidate in our church, and part of that is taking classes here at the Fort Collins teaching site of Gateway Seminary.
As you give to the Colorado Missions Offering, you support students like Matt, others from Resonate, Overland, and churches across the state. It enables us to create scholarships that we can fund students and enable those who need help in order to pursue God’s call on their life and send them out to churches across this state and around the world.
