President, International Mission Board
Paul Chitwood was elected president of the IMB in November 2018. He previously had served as executive director of the Kentucky Baptist Convention since 2011. For 18 years prior to that, Chitwood served as the pastor of local churches of varying sizes in Kentucky. During his pastorates, he served as chairman of the International Mission Board’s trustees from 2008-10, part of his tenure as an IMB trustee from 2002-10. A native of Jellico, Tenn., Chitwood is a 1992 graduate of Cumberland College and earned the Master of Divinity and Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. He served as a faculty member of the seminary between 2002 and 2018. He and his wife, Michelle, have four children.
Pastor, Revive Church, Arvada
Kyle is the Lead Pastor of Revive Church. He has served in various roles since joining the staff in 2008, and stepped into the lead role in 2016. A native of Texas, he graduated from Abilene Christian University with a business degree, later completing a Master of Divinity at Denver Seminary. He has been married to his best friend, Erika, since 2005, and together they are raising 7 beautiful children in Arvada, Colorado. A passionate teacher and leader, Kyle has a heart for his city and is hopeful for the church to be a force for good in every city. In his free time, you can find him hunting down delicious food and dating the love of his life.
Pastor, Iglesia Avenida, Aurora
José is from Cuba, where he grew up without any religious influence, on the contrary, with Marxist and atheist principles. At the age of 17, when he was doing military service in Havana, a friend of his invited him to an evangelical church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. In 1990, José moved to Sancti-Spiritus where he began his missionary work by planting a church with his family; He also began his theological studies by extension. In April 2000 he moved to Chile, where he worked as a missionary, Church planter and missions teacher at a Bible Institute. In August 2004 he moved to the United States to work as a Missions Door missionary as a church planter. In July 2012 he graduated with a Master of Theology from Christian Network Education.
