As my husband and I were watching the ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer, tears welled up in my eyes as we saw picture after picture of the devastation and chaos caused by the F-5 tornado that ripped through Moore, Oklahoma.
Then suddenly, there on the television screen were those familiar, bright yellow hats and shirts of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. Just as I was processing Diane talking about faith-based organizations, Sam Porter, Oklahoma’s Disaster Relief Director, was interviewed and explained how there were able to respond almost immediately.
