As my husband and I were watching the ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer, tears welled up in my eyes as we saw picture after picture of the devastation and chaos caused by the F-5 tornado that ripped through Moore, Oklahoma.

Then suddenly, there on the television screen were those familiar, bright yellow hats and shirts of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. Just as I was processing Diane talking about faith-based organizations, Sam Porter, Oklahoma’s Disaster Relief Director, was interviewed and explained how there were able to respond almost immediately. We are excited to have Korey Buchanek as our Camp Pastor for PEAK Kids Camp 2013!  Pastor Korey has been serving in ministry for sixteen years as a church planter and pastor in both Colorado and Hawaii. He currently serves as the Growth Pastor of Fellowship of the Rockies in Pueblo, CO. As a father of four he understands what it’s like to speak into the lives of children in creative and entertaining ways. His hobbies include surfing, skiing, skydiving, and sports. Pastor Korey is an avid synchronized swimmer with numerous awards in the area of ostrich jousting (and has a great sense of humor, as you can tell).
